The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting New Mexicans, as more and more lose their jobs or continue to be unemployed, and our food pantry has seen a tremendous growth in the number of clients we provide service to. Our main food source, Roadrunner Food Bank has been highly impacted as well. Their donations are down, which means that we have less to choose from. The closure of restaurants has meant a decrease in overall donations to Roadrunner.
We rely heavily on our East Mountain community for their continued support, and are asking for your help. If you belong to a civic organization, neighborhood association, church, or friends who might want to join forces to help collect food/cash through a food drive, we would be grateful. Facebook fundraisers on your personal or group pages and on our Facebook page , as well as spreading the word through Nextdoor app could help us get the word out. Do you have a business where we could put out a donation box to collect items for the Pantry? We can arrange pickup for any food drive/collection point or can meet you at the pantry.
We need your help more now than ever. If you can help, go to the Get Involved page on our website by following this link: Help East Mountain Food Pantry
